Statement of Purpose
The CCSCNE intends to bring together faculty, staff, and students from smaller academic institutions throughout the Northeast in an exchange of ideas and information concerning computing and computing curricula in such an environment.

Conference Details
This conference provides an affordable regional forum for the exchange of information and ideas pertaining to the concerns of computing and Computing curricula in a smaller academic environment. It will begin with an opening address by a keynote speaker on Friday at 1:00 p.m., include a Friday evening banquet and speaker, a Saturday luncheon, and conclude Saturday at 2:00 pm. In addition to parallel paper sessions, the program will include half-day tutorials, panels, student research papers, and vendor displays.

Registration Fee
Registration fee (Early $95; Late $115) includes admission to all sessions, panels, tutorials, Java workshop, banquet, luncheon, and a membership in the Consortium for Computing in Small Colleges for 1996-7 complete with subscription to the Journal of Computing in Small Colleges. Java workshop attendees must have knowledge of C or Pascal and pre-register by contacting Franklyn Turbak (FAX: 617-283-3642, email: fturbak@wellesley.edu). Student registration fee ($30) includes all sessions, panels, tutorials, Java workshop, banquet, and luncheon.

Submission Guidelines

PAPERS
Papers will be refereed and those accepted for presentation will appear in the Journal for Computing in Small Colleges. Submissions should be no more than 15 double spaced pages in length, including figures, and contain no identifying reference to self or organization. Include a cover page with title, author(s) name(s), affiliation(s), street & email address(es),and an abstract.

STUDENT PAPERS
Students are invited to submit an extended abstract describing research or project results. It should be no more than 5 pages in length and should be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor. Please submit 4 copies of student papers by November 30, 1996 to:
